Feature Commercial Project of the Month - Elysee Scientific Cosmetics, Inc.

At Elysee, we pledge to provide distinctive quality, safety, results and unparalleled customer service as we bring you the most advanced anti-aging ingredients at the most effective levels in the right combinations to make a difference. When love and service work together, expect a masterpiece!

Founded on proven and reliable European formulas, Elysee has been providing high-quality special treatment products for over 80 years. The first product, a hand cream, was developed by Elysee Founder, Dr. Elizabeth Blumenthal, in 1923. Dr. Blumenthal's expertise in the skincare field was even sought after by the U.S. Government, and she was sent to assist medical doctors in the Pacific solve the skin problems of their troops.

The Company was brought to the United States in 1940. Linda Marshall met the founder in 1945. Ms. Marshall purchased Elysee in 1972, because she wanted to assure that the quality, integrity and innovation of a great skin care company would continue. Ms. Marshall had tried many products and never found one that measured up. Since they manufacture, develop, fill and ship their own products, as well as several private label products for other companies, including doctors and celebrities, Ms. Marshall personally oversee's the quality of every product.

Elysee has never been a "me, too" product line. The company introduced Royal Jelly, grapeseed, wine extract, AHA's, olive oil, botanicals, and vitamins A, D and E, into the product line as early as 1940. Originally, Elysee was available exclusively through salons where the rich and famous demanded only the best.

Ms. Marshall has been formulating cosmetics for over thirty years. She was the first woman asked to serve on the Board of Directors of the Cosmetic, Toiletry and Fragrance Association (CTFA), the first woman elected to the Executive Committee of CTFA, and the first woman elected to hold the office of Secretary/Treasurer for CTFA. She has chaired the CTFA Annual Meeting and represented the industry as the liaison person at the Trans-Atlantic Conference to help persuade parliament over EU regarding industry issues (i.e. ingredient testing for fragrances, AHA's, and the Animal Rights Proposal for Europe). She continues to serve on the Board, the Executive Committee, as Chairman of the CTFA Small Business Committee, serve on SAC (Scientific Advisory Committee), and a member of the Fragrance Foundation.

At Elysee, beauty is their business and a family way of life. In fact, thier Research and Development Team is headed up by Ms. Elysee's son John. As a family-owned and operated business, they continue today to be visionaries in the introduction of important skincare breakthroughs.

Elysee Scientific Cosmetics Building

Elysee Cosmetics is a returning customer, we did their roof just about four years ago. As for this job we wrapped the whole building in 1/4 inch fanfold green foamcore to add some insulation. All windows and doors also had Grace® Vycor Plus™ to inusre a watertight seal. Windows were also wrapped and built out to accomadate for the depth of the new vinyl siding. The following video is one of our Foremen, Trooper Maffit with an example of this process.

The Stone

Starting with the front enterance to the building, we had our Masonry Partner - Neubauer Masonry add a stone veneer and weatherledge stone cap. This process is first started by Trooper and Chad by building out around the support posts with rough lumber and then installing plywood over the build and a 30lb felt paper over that. The masons then add a drain mesh over the top of the of the felt paper, then comes the stone. Following is a picture of the finished stone column and a time lapse of that process.

The Siding

Again a 1/4" green foamcore was installed underneath the siding for extra insulation. They chose vinyl siding in a Tuscan Olive with white corners and trim. They also chose a shake style gable in the front of th building in Timberstone. See below.
